Week of forestry workshops in Rotorua

University of Canterbury’s School of Forestry is running a series of Forest Engineering Workshops in Rotorua this winter.

The one-day courses are designed to provide up-to-date information in a structured learning environment, for people actively engaged in the forest industry.

The courses are: Working on Steep Slopes with Winch Assist (2 June); Safe and Effective use of Mobile Tailholds (3 June); Managing Production for Cost-Effective Logging (June 4); Building Better Forest Roads – Design and Construction (5 June).

Each course will be run at Rydges Hotel, Rotorua. The fee of $350 (+GST) per person, per day includes all teaching materials, morning and afternoon tea, as well as lunch.

Courses will be confirmed once 15 people have registered and will be capped at 35, with the first week of May the cut off. There is an option to run a second roading workshop if there is sufficient demand.

To register interest, email rien.visser@canterbury.ac.nz.

The Forest Growers Levy Trust is supporting the workshops.
