Still time to submit Eastland Forestry Award nominees

The Eastland Forestry Awards mark an opportunity for the sector to come together to celebrate its skilled, experienced and dedicated people, all of whom work in one of the most challenging forestry operating environments in the country.

The 12th Eastland Forestry Awards, which were postponed from May 2023 to May 2024, are hosted by the Eastland Wood Council to acknowledge the importance of the region’s forestry industry and its dedicated workforce.

They will take place on 24 May at the Showgrounds Event Centre, Makaraka, Gisborne.

The support by sponsors has been strong for this event, demonstrating the passion and commitment to the region.

Award categories cover Skilled Professionals (categories ranging from harvesting to logistics, falling and wood processing excellence and Crew of the Year) and Industry Excellence (from environmental initiatives to innovation).

Nominations from the industry close at the end of this month. Nominations can be made by your company, your manager, your colleague or you can self-nominate.

Reasons for nomination range from demonstrating high quality of work output, to recognition by peers and employers, compliance, training, health & safety practices and productivity.

To enter your nomination, complete the form online at: https://www.ewcfa.nz/nominations/
